I bet all of us have known how to play blackjack, especially now when you people can blackjack online. Even if there are people who don’t, it won’t take more than a couple of minutes to understand the main idea of the game. The basic idea of black jack is getting 21 points of your cards without getting bust. Who has the closest card’s point to 21 wins. So, that’s the basic idea. Looks really simple isn’t it? However, after you play the game for a while, then you will know that there are some more tricks in blackjack game.
The first one is the number 16 rule. When it comes to blackjack, 16 is a magic number. Why is that? That is because the dealer must hit when they have cards equal or less than 16. There is one good strategy to deal in some situations with this rule applied.
First, since the dealer will always have a card face down, then you must always assume that that card is a 10. Therefore, if the other card is 6, then you must assume that he has a 16. At this point, if you have 11 or less in your hand, then best move is of course to hit again since there is no possibility to bust. Even if the card given to you is not a good one, let’s say, a 5, you still may want to do the double down or double the bet since the possibility of the dealer will bust on the next card is very big.
On the other hand, if you are the one who have the 16, then you must watch what the dealer has. If the dealer’s face up card is 6 or lower, then stick. However, if the dealer’s card is 7 or higher, then you should take another hit.
Does double down mean double trouble?
This is a question that many people have in their mind. But the real question is, are you ready to lose double the amount you put on bet? The answer is of course only yourself who can answer. The risk is very high indeed. But this is gambling, and that’s what people do when they gamble. Some people get lucky on a hot table and leave with a huge amount of money. Some get a bad luck and lose it all. So, it’s always your decision. Just make sure that you are ready to accept all the consequences from your decision.
