My Neighbor’s Moving Week Preparation

For several last days I’ve been helping my neighbor packing for moving. She and her family will move to Houston, Texas in a couple days. Her husband had been promoted and soon will manage a brand new office in that city.

Since she has quite a big family, one husband, four children and two cute dogs, there were so many things to manage. She asked my favor to help her with all the moving preparation. Of course I didn’t have to think twice to say yes. We’ve been a close friend and we often visit each other at dinners. Coincidentally, I also had a loose class schedule this week so there’s absolutely there’s no problem for me to come and give extra hand.

Moving, especially when it involves a house with many people, is a daunting task to do. Basically, you need to move every single thing in the house to the new one. You need to consider which things can be packed first and which ones you will still need to the last minutes. You also need to make a list note of things you have packed to avoid the confusion in the future. However, apparently the job has not done yet once you have finished this task.

Yesterday, my friend told me about her problem in keeping her Direct TV subscription. She has been subscribing to Direct Satellite TV for years and very satisfied with its service. Now when she has to move to another state, she wondered if she could just continue her subscription in the new state.

Fortunately, I had just the right experience to answer her question. When my uncle Ben moved from California to Florida several years ago, he also moved his Direct TV subscription. All he needed to do was just contacting the Direct TV in California about his moving. My neighbor was so happy with my explanation, knowing that she had another problem solved so she could focus on the other problems.
